Acting Coaching
If you're looking for an acting coach, I should warn you: I don't coach like most of them.
Most acting coaching starts from the inside: dig up a memory, manufacture a feeling, hope it reads. I build from the outside in. Body first. Voice next. Inner life follows — reliably, repeatably, without emotional excavation. Backed by science. You'll make choices you can hit eight shows a week, not choices that depend on how you feel that day.
Text, subtext, structure, stakes... we cover all of it. You'll just cover it on your feet so it's much more visceral.
Want the deep end of this work? See Physical Storytelling below. That's my bread and butter.
Physical Storytelling
Your body tells the story whether you mean it to or not. Let's make sure it's telling the right one.
This is my specialty. The thing clients fly in for. Drawing on Viewpoints and Laban-based frameworks, I'll train you to make bold, specific, physical choices that read from the back row and hold up under pressure. Not choreography. Not "gesture more." A vocabulary for your body that makes every song and scene sharper.
If your coaches keep saying "just be more grounded" without telling you how, I'm your guy. This is the how.
Vocal Coaching
Sing your truth. I'll make it soar.
My vocal coaching is style-forward and technique-smart, informed by Estill Voice Training. Which means we work with the actual mechanics of your instrument, not vague imagery. We'll find the sounds your storytelling needs and build them so they're healthy, repeatable, and yours.
Fifteen-plus years as a music director means I'm not just listening for pretty. I'm listening for castable.
Pop/Rock/R&B
The genres conservatories rarely teach well, coached with an actual system.
You booked the show, but when the track flips to Aretha, Bruno, or Paramore, you're faking it. Not anymore. I've built a wholly original, repeatable framework for authentic performance of radio music. Stylization, phrasing, groove, physicality, and connection, broken into clear steps you can practice and reuse.
No "just feel it." No karaoke impressions. Real tools that turn safe into stunning.
Audition Preparation
You already know I cover every discipline. Here's what that means when an audition drops.
One session, everything handled. We pick the material, cut it, mine the acting choices, dial in the vocals, solve the physical life, and rehearse the room: walking in, bringing your unique humanity, making real connections, communicating with the accompanist, walking out confidently. I'll play for you while we work, so you rehearse with the exact musical partnership you'll need behind the piano.
You leave with a plan, not a pep talk. Prepared beats hopeful, every time.
Repertoire Coaching
Ditch the tired cuts. Build a book that books.
Your rep book should be a targeting system: songs chosen to put you in the room for the roles you actually want. I'll strategize your book with you, find the gaps, and hand-select songs that light you up and make you shine. Not those generic songs you've already sung to death. Music that sounds like you.
This work now comes in three packaged tiers — Strategy, Expansion, and Reset — depending on how much of the build you want to do together. See the Rep Coaching Bundles above, or start with a free consultation and I'll tell you honestly which one fits.
Role Preparation
Booked the role? Chasing the one you were born to play? Both live here.
If you're cast: we'll break down the script and score, build physical and vocal choices that align with the story and your instincts, and translate the creative team's notes so you can adapt without losing your voice. You'll walk into rehearsal with a fully realized character: grounded, specific, ready to collaborate.
If it's a goal role — the one you haven't been seen for yet — we'll build it now, long before the breakdown drops. That's not a one-session project. It's ongoing work, and it's the single best reason to coach regularly instead of cramming when the audition hits. When your shot comes, you won't be scrambling. You'll be ready.
Self-Taping
Direction, reader, accompaniment, and tech support. All in one.
Self-tapes fail for boring reasons: flat choices, dead reads, bad framing. I solve all three. You get a thoughtful director shaping your performance take by take, a trained actor as your reader, a pianist sight-reading anything on the spot, and someone who actually knows where the camera should go. We keep rolling until we've got the take you're proud to share.
Plus, I've got all the equipment you need at my home studio. Just show up and perform. I’ll handle the rest.
Collaborative Piano
Put anything in front of me and I'll play it.
Fifteen-plus years as a music director and pianist. Hundreds of singers, onstage and in the studio, classic to contemporary. If it's on the page, I can play it. If it's not, I'll find it. And I'm tracking every beat of your vocal and physical performance while I play, so the accompaniment serves the coaching instead of interrupting it.
Need rehearsal tracks? Every piano track we create in-session is yours to keep.
Concert Creation
A solo concert is the most powerful marketing tool an actor can have. It's also a full-time job to build. Good news: I've done this dozens of times.
Concept, setlist, arrangements, patter, staging, music direction, band, venue. I'll help you build a show that showcases exactly who you are in your unique way. Leave the heavy lifting to me.
Directing & Producing
Need more than a coach? Hire the whole creative brain.
I direct and music direct plays, musicals, concerts, workshops, and readings. If you're developing new work, producing your own project, or need an outside eye with an insider's toolkit, let's talk about what you're building.
Career Strategy
Talent isn't a plan. Let's make one.
Type, targets, materials, momentum. We'll look at your career the way a producer would: what you're selling, who's buying, and what's actually standing between you and the next level. Then we'll build a strategy you can execute, with checkpoints you can measure.
This is the thread that ties every other session together. The craft gets you ready. The strategy gets you seen.
THE PROCESS
Three steps. Zero mystery.
Book your session.
Pick your format. Tell me what you're working on. Come as prepared as you can.
We find the highest-impact move.
Laser-focused on the adjustments, choices, and strategies that change the most, fastest. Then we build from there.
You leave with a clear plan.
Every session ends with:
- Actionable next steps
- Tools you can apply immediately, on your own, without me in the room
- Specific adjustments tailored to your goals
- A strategy that outlasts the session
I'm not selling “inspiration.” I'm selling clarity, repeatable tools, and forward momentum.
Inspiration is just a side effect.
SOCIAL PROOF
Don’t take my word for it.
After coaching with Kyle, I felt the most secure and confident I've ever been in an audition room. And I booked it!
Lexi Lyric
Kyle is precise and intuitive. He encourages bold, creative choices that help me walk into auditions feeling prepared, with a real point of view.
Max Chernin
Kyle brought so much out of my voice that I didn't know it was capable of. I now feel capable of singing any genre, and I owe so much of my audition success to him.
Brooke Singer
Kyle helped me identify tools I'd always had but never fully realized. I can now choose how and when I use them, which has made me a more self-aware, intentional performer.

MEET YOUR COACH
An entire creative team.
For 15+ years, I've prepared Broadway performers, touring artists, and emerging actors for the biggest moments of their careers.
As a director, music director, pianist, former actor, and Head of Music at New York Film Academy, I bring every discipline into one room so nothing about your work gets coached in isolation.
EVERYTHING YOU’RE WONDERING
Answered.
Which option should I choose?
- Preparing something specific, like an audition, a self-tape, or a song? Book a single coaching.
- Rebuilding your book? Start with a Rep Bundle.
- Want regular momentum? Book recurring sessions or grab a Coaching Bundle. Goal-role work and career strategy thrive on consistency.
- Genuinely unsure? That's the free consultation. I'll tell you straight.
Do I need to be in NYC?
Nope. I coach clients worldwide over Zoom, and remote sessions are just as rigorous as in-person ones.
If you're in New York, my Hell's Kitchen home studio is available weekday afternoons, or we can meet at an approved Midtown rehearsal studio anytime (including evenings and weekends).
What's in your home studio?
My Hell’s Kitchen studio is well equipped for all of your creative pursuits. It includes:
- Keyboard: 88 keys, weighted
- Bose speaker: Bluetooth and aux-in
- Tripod with cell phone holder
- Pop-up background: blue and gray
- Fluorescent softbox lights (2)
- Handheld microphone with stand (no amplification)
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPad Pro
- MacBook Pro, with Logic
Access to all equipment is complimentary with every in-person coaching at my home studio. Or I can bring it to a rehearsal studio for a small fee.
What's my best setup for Zoom?
Because of the slight delay on Zoom, I can’t accompany you live, so I strongly recommend using a backing track during your session. If you need help finding or prepping one, let me know.
For best results, play your track from an external device (a Bluetooth speaker works great). Avoid playing it through the same device you’re using for Zoom, as I won't be able to hear that way.
Also, make sure Original Sound for Musicians is turned on in your Zoom settings:
- On Desktop: Settings → Audio → Audio Profile → Turn on Original Sound for Musicians, and enable all three options (high-fidelity, echo cancellation, stereo audio). Then toggle it on during the call (top-right of Zoom screen).
- On Phone: Tap your profile (top-left) → Settings → Audio → Original Sound for Musicians.
- On Tablet: Tap More → Audio → Original Sound for Musicians.
How should I prepare?
I'll meet you wherever you are in your creative process. But your time is valuable. The more you prep, the further we go together.
- Do your homework. Read the script, memorize your material, and arrive warmed up.
- Have a plan. Tell me what you want to accomplish — either ahead of time or at the start of the session — so I can make sure we get to everything possible.
- Send the materials. Text or email me any files/documents you’re working with, or AirDrop them in-person.
- Organize your music. I like using my iPad, but if you’re bringing physical sheet music, use a binder: double-sided, 3-hole punched or in sheet protectors. No loose sheets, please.
Need help with any of this? I got you.
Can you help me choose songs?
It's one of my favorite things to do. Song suggestions are built into the Rep Bundles, and we can always strategize repertoire inside a single coaching.
Will you play for me?
Always. Every session includes me at the piano, sight-reading whatever you bring or pulling from my own extensive score collection. Piano tracks we create in-session are yours to keep.
Can I record our session?
Please do. I strongly encourage you to record every coaching. Reviewing audio and video footage of yourself is crucial for growth.
If you choose to share your work online, just please don't include me speaking or coaching.
Do you coach beginners? Professionals?
I work with artists pursuing professional careers. That includes everyone from college hopefuls to Broadway principals. The coaching meets you where you are, while the standards stay the same.
If you’re looking for recreational or hobby-based coaching, I’m happy to recommend someone who’s a better fit.
What's your payment and cancellation policy?
A valid credit card secures your booking and is charged within 24 hours of the appointment. Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance and you owe nothing. Inside that window, you're responsible for full payment. All sales are final. Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
I don't see a time that works. Can you accommodate?
Occasionally, yes. If my calendar doesn't show what you need, contact me and I'll see what I can do.
Have a different question? Ask me.
Ready?
One conversation can change everything.
